THE ARTIST/WRITER/WEBGUY/FREEDER!

The name is Mike Ellis.  I’m a level 8 Bardbarian who’s been making webcomics since 2005.  I started in University when I was reading the comic section in the school’s newspaper and shouted “What the jizz man?!  I could write a better comic than this!”  And so I did.  It later moved online and became a webcomic called True Groove.  Right now I’m living in Toronto working in radio precariously balancing a plethora of side projects including; True Groove (a random gag webcomic), Build It to Break It (awesome rock band), Plus Pie (a movie review site with delicious pie) and FM 93 Sketch’ums (comedy skits I do for my radio station).

THE COMIC!

Pieces of Eights all started in 2008 with a Dungeons and Dragons campaign that I DM’ed.  Even though we never finished the story it gave me the chance to play out the story, add more levels and backgrounds and really give it some balls if you know what I mean.  Now that I feel my art is up to snuff, I'm going to finishing the story the way it should be told!
